Not the word I chose. The word given — that is where I stand.

I learned the first steps of faith at a large church in Gangnam, Seoul. It was there, worshiping alongside brothers and sisters who had come from North Korea, that I met my wife. After we married we moved, and settled into a small church plant in Yongin.

In that small church, praying with Israel on our hearts, I met the Torah portion for the first time. Over two journeys to Israel, one thing came into focus.

The world's holidays have their place. But what does a life look like that remembers God's appointed times and keeps His calendar? Hoping more people would stand before this text together, I began building Echad.

To my wife, who edits the Echad Letter and stays beside me. To our four daughters, who use this unfinished app anyway. And to the Hineni community and every partner in faith — thank you, deeply.
